This is a large and lively campsite at Miami Platja on the Costa Dorado - the Spanish "Gold" coast. Set in tropical gardens and with direct access to Playa Montroig beach, this parc is ideal for exploring both the magnificent Montsant mountains and Barcelona. The four large swimming pools are set in a landscaped area and feature waterfalls, slides and there are interactive water games in the children's pool.
The kilometre long beach has fine sand and there are various activities such as beach football, kayaking, pedaloes and floating platforms. The Playa Montroig resort campsite is very close to the PortAventura theme park and you can also visit the magnificent Roman Tarragona. Add in excellent facilties such as the gym fitness centre, hair and beauty salon and even a medical centre and you can see why this really is one of the Best Spanish Campsites !
Please note : As the main resort is not within walking distance we recommend that you have the use of a car when staying at this parc. Noise can be heard from nearby railway and roads.

Things to Do in the Area
Large Theme Park with 5 different areas - Far West, Mexico, China, Polynesia and Mediterranea. There is a great selection of rides, shows, rollercoasters and games for the whole family. Watch out if you have non swimmers as it is possible that the lifejackets run out if its High Season and they dont seem to allow arm bands, so please plan this outing carefully if your children can't.
Aquopolis is great for a day out and has all sorts of aquatic attractions including a Kamikaze slide, a Black Hole and the thrilling Aquamania - a triple slide, straight slides, twisting slides, river rapids, a wave pool, a hydrotherapy pool and a swimming pool with various fun attractions. There is an area for small children and a games area for all the family with mini-golf and bumper cars.
Tarragona (34 km)
There are many impressive Roman remains in this town which have been designated as a World Heritage Site. You can visit a Roman amphitheatre Amphitheatre of Tarragona overlooking the sea and 4km north of the town there is an aqueduct. There is a sightseeing train that you can get on. We found a nice pizza place called Pizza Nova on Carrer de St Domenec which we would recommend. There is also usually an international Fireworks competition here towards the beginning of July.
Cambrils (14 km)
A charming tourist resort with a lovely beach, souvenir shops and a harbour. This family tourist resort has been designated as a Destinació de Turisme Familiar which means it has been officially approved as a family tourist destination. The small tourist train will take you to the the ruins of a Roman Villa.
There are various guides to Cambrils, including a town map, cycling route guides etc which can be downloaded from this Cambrils Website.
Disclaimer: The reviews published on the site are intended solely for the purpose of providing general information and comment and are purely our opinions. We cannot guarantee that descriptions on this site are accurate, up to date or free from error. We have found that the campsites described are very good and are some of the top campsites in France but we find that it is difficult to find a campsite which has 100% of what you are looking for. Also one person may love a busy campsite with lots of activities while someone else may love a quiet campsite with a small swimming pool. Actually we tend to be the latter ! So what we have done is highlight the good points of the sites and maybe point out a few of what we have found as slightly negative points. However we strongly recommend that you make full use of as many internet sources as possible before deciding about your holiday, including such things as Google maps.
